What is Sources of Strength?
A best practice suicide prevention project that moves beyond singular risk factors to focus on multiple sources of support (strengths). It increases help seeking behaviors and promotes connections to peers and caring adults.

Our mission is to help any school, Tribal Nation or youth-serving organization build and practice a community of strength. Sources of Strength programming is available in a K-6 universal classroom curriculum or MS/HS peer led training model. Sources of Strength Equity Collaborative 2024 - 2025
One of the primary missions of Sources of Strength is to create a culture of belonging in schools and communities. In order to create belonging, it is critical to directly confront the ways in which racism and white supremacy operate in our schools and spaces.
Who: Any Sources of Strength Adult Advisor, Local Trainer, Elementary Coach or Elementary Instructor.
When & Where: Launch: January 2025: 15th (9-4) 16th (9-4) and 17th (9-1) location TBD (may be virtual)
Monthly virtual follow ups: Feb 6th, March 13th, April 10th, May 8th (all 8:30-12:30)

Sources Evaluation Lunch & Learn

We have shared our findings from our Elementary and Secondary evaluation activities done in partnership with the University of Oregon Suicide Prevention lab over the last couple of years.
